Centrizoom™

VO separators range was designed to increase oil yield and produce refined oil of better quality. Enhanced with a special feature, manual Centrizoom paring disc outlet,  these centrifuges are ideal for degumming, neutralization and washing, they ensure optimal mixing and separation, allow to increase efficiency of the plant and to reduce production costs.

How VO separators work

Alfa Laval VO vegetable oil centrifuge systems use a simple and robust open design that supports easy maintenance and low feed pressure requirements. Each bowl is engineered specifically for fatty oil separation. The geometry minimizes pressure drop, supports high flow rates, and uses stationary paring devices to remove the different phases. The light phase uses a fixed paring disc, while the heavy phase uses an adjustable paring device.

The diameter of the heavy phase paring device can be modified by changing the length of the paring tubes. This adjustment shifts the separation interface within the disc stack and helps achieve optimal separation.

To support a low noise working environment, the VO range incorporates a rubber damped bearing assembly and an outer bowl designed to reduce wind noise. During operation, centrifugal force drives heavier particles toward the bowl periphery for automatic discharge through ports. The heavy phase is pumped out through the upper heavy phase outlet, while the lighter oil moves toward the center and exits through a separate upper light phase outlet for further processing.
